Strong domestic demand propels UK car output

Boosted by production for domestic consumption, passenger car manufacturing in the UK rose by 2.3% year-on-year in May 2015. In all, a total of 119,338 cars were produced in the country last month, up from 116,655 units produced in May 2014. With fresh investments towards new models, car output levels in the UK are expected to increase over the coming years.
