Solvay gains strength in auto segment with Ryton PPS buy

Solvay aims for strengthened automotive product range with the acquisition of Ryton PPS.

Solvay, a manufacturer of high-performance polymers for use in automotive and other industries, has signed an agreement to acquire the Ryton PPS business from Chevron Phillips Chemical in a move aimed at expanding its offering of polymers in the automotive segment. The transaction is valued at US$220m.
