Volkswagen has finalised a compensation agreement with its US dealers, an essential step to achieving its ambitious turnaround plans for this pivotal market.
Understandably, dealers were disgruntled over the defeat device scandal, which some claimed had damaged their franchise value. A group of them took VW to court. A tentative deal was announced about a month ago, though the details had yet to be worked out. VW had said that it hoped to finalise everything by the end of September.
