Japanese plant work towards reducing CO2 emissions and waste

JAMA outlines some of the measures being taken by OEMs in Japan to address CO2 emissions, waste and the use of hazardous substances at their manufacturing facilities

The Japanese automotive market started this year with a 19.1% year-on-year decline in automotive sales in January to 401,366 units. This comprised 344,040 passenger cars, 56,590 trucks and 736 buses. While the passenger car and truck segments saw sales drop by 20.7% and 8.6% respectively, the bus segment managed a 26.7% improvement in sales compared with January 2014 levels.
