Obama nominates new NHTSA Administrator as safety crisis escalates

In the face of two of the greatest safety crises in automotive history, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has appointed a new head – a year after the incumbent resigned.

In the face of two of the greatest safety crises in automotive history, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has appointed a new head – a year after the resignation of previous incumbent, David Strickland. The announcement came on 19 November from President Obama, who nominated the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) Mark Rosekind to become the organisation’s next Administrator.
