Mitsubishi has come forth with a public admission that some fuel consumption testing data submitted to the Japanese authorities was fudged to make figures appear better than they really were. Strongly echoing well-publicised developments at Volkswagen with its defeat device scandal, this time the situation appears limited to Japan.
