A market of many markets: why GM sees “tremendous opportunity” in China

China is clearly maturing, but small percentage gains could mask considerable volume opportunities

General Motors and its joint ventures saw a 4% drop in China sales for September, with year-to-date sales running relatively flat. However, Matt Tsien, President of GM China, remains incredibly optimistic on the market's continued potential.

"We still see tremendous growth opportunity in China in terms of overall industry size, improved model mix and downstream revenue," he told analysts at the company's recent Global Business Conference.
