Managing risks and cutting costs key to effective battery production

With EVs on the horizon and as markets align, players will need to partner up and roll with the punches to manufacture competitive EV batteries. By Jack Hunsley

Electric vehicle (EV) batteries have developed greatly since 2010. When launched at the start of the decade, the Nissan Leaf, for example, boasted a range of 73 miles according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) figures. Today’s Leafs can achieve double that. Numerous elements have contributed to the gains, but one key point is the battery production process itself.
