MAN Truck & Bus production realignment to cost 1,800 jobs

In order to boost its efficiency and to avoid duplication of work, MAN Truck & Bus has decided to streamline its production network across Europe. This move will result in the loss of 1,800 jobs, which will go through voluntary redundancies

In the first quarter of 2015, MAN Group's commercial vehicles division saw its sales revenue decline by 2% year-on-year to €2.29bn (US$2.57bn), compared with €2.34bn recorded for the corresponding quarter in 2014. As a result, this division's operating profit fell sharply by around €31m to €11m, down from €42m in the first quarter of last year.
