Mahindra spearheads home-grown electrification efforts

Confidence is high at Mahindra Electric that India will emerge as a global leader in electrification, which in turn will help to tackle Bengaluru’s pollution problems. By Xavier Boucherat

Mahindra entered the electric vehicle (EV) market following the acquisition of the EV start-up Reva in 2010. The Mahindra e20—a successor to Reva’s REVAi—was revealed soon after, emphasising compactness and affordability and with a range of 120km (75 miles). Since then, the automaker’s electric vehicles have cumulatively driven more than 100 million kilometres in the country.
