Lure of Iran runs deeper than just sales

Sales today, export tomorrow - vehicle manufacturers looking to tap Iran's resurgence will likely make investments in local production, writes Megan Lampinen

The lifting of economic sanctions on Iran is expected to revive the vehicle market dramatically with an influx of new brands and models. BMI Research is forecasting that the automotive market will pass its previous sales peak set in 2011 (1.6 million units) at some point during the 2016-2020 period.
