Detroit didn't go to plan for Volkswagen, but that's not to say its game over yet. While the motor show did afford an opportunity to show off its latest new models and to apologise yet again for the use of defeat devices, Chief Executive Matthias Mueller managed to put his foot in it during an interview with NPR.
