Limited availability of dedicated residential parking - and hence charging opportunities - is a significant barrier to mainstream EV adoption, yet less than half of US vehicles have reliable access to a dedicated off-street parking space at an owned residence where charging infrastructure could be installed. These were the main conclusions of a report by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University into parking and charging availability for electric cars in the US.
