Layoffs hit Ford’s Michigan workers

Sluggish demand for its small cars and hybrids has forced Ford to cut a shift at its assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan

Shortly after it announced significant investments towards new engine and transmission manufacturing plants in Mexico, Ford has announced layoff plans at a facility in Michigan. This decision will affect 675 assembly line workers and 25 salaried workers at its vehicle assembly facility in Wayne, Michigan.
