Latin NCAP slams (again) ‘deliberate decisions’ to scale back safety

More disappointing crash test results from the region as the Picanto receives a 0 star rating and the 208 drops from four stars to two. By Megan Lampinen

Different regions, different levels of safety equipment - that's the conclusion yet again from the latest round of crash tests in Latin America. The New Car Assessment Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (Latin NCAP) has just published the results of its tests on the Kia Picanto (Morning, the most basic safety equipped version) and the Peugeot 208. For one it was a score of no stars at all while the other saw its rating cut in half, from four stars to two.
