More than just replacement parts needed to fix Takata debacle

New developments continue to unfold from Takata's faulty airbag debacle. The supplier is reportedly pushing ahead with plans for an auction, attracting interest from private equity firms and suppliers. However, it's all confidential for now.

In the meantime, OEMs continue to struggle with recall volumes and analysts continue to question the underlying corporate practices that allowed the situation to emerge in the first place.
