In December 2012, British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) signed a letter of intent with the Saudi Arabia's National Industrial Clusters Development Program (NICDP) in a move aimed at establishing an automotive partnership in the country. The signing of this letter of intent marked the start of a joint feasibility study carried out by the two parties to look into the possibility of setting up a manufacturing facility.
