In-house or outsourced? A look at the latest auto industry IT dilemma

As the connected and autonomous revolution draws ever nearer, companies are being forced to consider how to evolve their in-house IT departments. By Jack Hunsley

The data centre is dying. At least, that’s the view of Gartner, based on a study the global research company published in May 2018 which proclaimed that, “by 2025, 80% of enterprises will have shut down their traditional data centre, versus 10% today.” For most traditional companies, this is of no concern, but for the automotive industry, this supposed transition has the potential to cause problems.
