Hyundai and Cisco supersize network capabilities

Cisco's James Peters speaks to Megan Lampinen about the innovative technology behind Hyundai's hyper-connected car

Hyundai is supersizing the network capabilities on certain models with an ultra-fast Gigabit network. The technology, which comes from Cisco, offers 1Gbps of bandwidth to support the range of systems required for highly automated and eventually fully autonomous driving. The project kicked off in 2016, at which time the partners confirmed they wanted to develop a fresh approach to communication. A final product announcement was made at CES 2018.
