Hydrogen infrastructure expansion ‘slower than expected’ – Toyota

Despite recent announcements, Toyota is unhappy about the rate of expansion for the hydrogen station network in the US. By Michael Nash

Expectations for the fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) are high. Toyota made a splash when it unveiled its Mirai in 2014. Although the OEM initially decided to limit volume to 200 vehicles, it said this number would increase to surpass 3,000 units by the end of 2017. In order to support continued growth, the company has been investing in hydrogen refuelling stations across the US.
