High up and out of the way: the complexities of sensor location

Josh Wickham talks to TE Connectivity about the importance of 5G as the auto industry prepares for autonomous driving

Asked to think of companies transforming the automotive industry, one would be forgiven for not instantly considering TE Connectivity (TE). Recognised by Fortune as one of the top companies changing the world because of its work in the creation of automotive technology that is sustainable and eco-friendly, TE’s connectors and sensors are of vital importance to the advancement of autonomous vehicle (AV) technologies.

Automotive World recently interviewed Steffen Lang, Manager Product Management at Hirschmann Car Communication, a business which TE acquired in 2017. Lang outlined the technologies that TE is developing which will play a fundamental part in the functioning of AVs.
