German luxury rivalry shifts to Detroit

As the German luxury triumvirate wraps up a record sales year across the board, the rivalry now shifts to Detroit, where each will unveil their next batch of contenders. In terms of overall sales last year, BMW led with volume but Mercedes-Benz enjoyed the strongest growth. BMW's global sales came in at 1,811,719 units (+9.5%) to Audi's 1,741,100 units (+10.5%) and Mercedes-Benz's 1,650,010 units (12.9%).
