First mile an ideal learning ground for future last mile automaker deployments

Though recent weeks have shown the importance of effective last mile logistics, entering this customer-centric sector is no mean feat. Customers only see the final few steps of this entire logistics operation, with little understanding of what is required to design, practice and implement an all-encompassing e-commerce delivery network that requires vast investments in assets, infrastructure and manpower. Given the advances made in connected, autonomous, shared and electric (CASE) technology, and their potential to shave valuable seconds off delivery cycles, all entrants need to get to grips with these new trends too.
