Renault-Nissan’s Russian optimism fades

The continued decline of the Russian automotive market, combined with the weakening of the rouble, has forced the country's largest OEM by volume, the Renault-Nissan Alliance, to cut production levels

In September last year, Renault-Nissan Alliance Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn had mentioned that his company was set to benefit, at least in the long term, with the continued weakening of the rouble. He said this on the basis of the alliance sourcing more components locally than its competitors, thanks to AvtoVAZ.
