With the deadline coming up, fears arise for the future of GM Oshawa line

Last year, GM decided to extend the life of the Consolidated assembly line at its Oshawa plant till 2016. The plant's future after this deadline is unsure, with no new products announced for it yet

In November, light vehicle sales in Canada rose year-on-year by 3.6% to 138,694 units. This improvement in sales last month was brought about by a 9.4% rise in light truck sales, comprising SUVs and pick-ups, totalling 84,160 units. This growth helped offset a 4.2% decline in passenger car numbers, which dropped to 54,534 units last month.
