Daimler management sanguine in face of truck market decline

Some of the biggest truck markets in the world are heading for decline this year, but Daimler Trucks management remain sanguine. The division wrapped up 2015 with some solid results, including a 32% jump in EBIT from ongoing business to €2.7bn (US$2.98bn) and a 0.9 percentage point gain in operating margin to 7.3%. Revenues rose 16% to €37.6bn and sales volumes rose a modest 1.35% to 502,478 units, but importantly broke the long-awaited half million mark.
