Integration is the next step for micromobility solutions

For micromobility to thrive, it must be integrated within wider public transport networks. By Christopher Dyer

Micromobility needs better transport infrastructure and legislation for it to thrive. That was the message the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) was keen to communicate a recent webinar on micromobility and broader commuter trends.

This comes after the research group published a report suggesting that micromobility could be the next major area of innovation in the transport and urban mobility sector. With several years of experience under its belt, experts addressed what steps were now needed to deliver micromobility at an affordable, accessible level, with the EIT identifying three strategic areas where progress was needed: integration, data and safety.  However, if work-from-home business strategies are here to stay, will micromobility solutions provide a serious option for those still pursuing the daily commute?
