The connected car could be held to ransom, warn experts

As the connected car goes mainstream, criminal groups and other entities will find new ways to exploit them. By Xavier Boucherat and Freddie Holmes

Incidents of car-hacking made several headlines in 2015. A study released in March demonstrated how one group was able to open a number of BMWs, Minis and Rolls-Royces by lifting data from the telematics unit inside a rental car.
