Combining gesture control with touchscreen could ‘significantly reduce driver distraction’

As a communication platform between driver and car, the human-machine interface (HMI) is evolving, and evolving fast. Big data is making it possible to supply the driver with virtually limitless amounts of information, while new and advanced sensory equipment allow drivers to carry out commands without getting distracted.

Gesture control is not a new concept to the automotive industry, but is one that is still in its infancy. New packages hitting the market could soon change this, as drivers can take advantage of numerous benefits.
