Stock market volatility won't slow August sales, but the loss of Labor Day might

Light vehicle sales in the US have been on a steady growth path for more than a year and a half, but a calendar quirk could introduce the first hiccup. Labor Day is held on the first Monday of September and popularly marks  the end of summer. Labor Day weekend is historically one of the strongest periods for sales, thanks to the combination of generous model year-end deals and the arrival of new model-year vehicles.
