The government of Canada has announced an increase in its funding for the local automotive industry, in a move aimed at attracting additional investments from vehicle manufacturers with local operations. In this regard, the government is increasing its Automotive Innovation Fund (AIF) by an additional CA$500m (US$453m) over a two-year period.
