Pushed by the need for improved efficiency and pressure from increasingly stringent CO2 emissions legislations, OEMs and suppliers have turned to friction reduction to improve the efficiency of their powertrains, sometimes by as much as 10%. Whilst this margin seems rather small, many industry experts believe that any benefit on efficiency within a vehicle fleet can have a significant impact across the wider industry.
