As the downturn in Russia continues, troubled local OEM AvtoVAZ is pushing ahead with plans for a production boost in neighbouring Kazakhstan. In one of his first official trips as Chief Executive, Nicolas Maure, who recently replaced Bo Andersson, met with Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Karim Masimov and other government officials. He also paid a visit to the car assembly plant ASIA AVTO in Ust-Kamenogorsk city, which is poised to add new models in the coming weeks.
