The death of Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin, killed on 18 June when his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled away and pinned him against his mailbox, has pulled Fiat Chrysler's 'unintuitive' gearshift back into the spotlight. Yelchin's vehicle was included in a recent recall by the OEM of more than a million vehicles due to problems drivers were having with unintended rollaway. FCA made it clear that there was nothing 'wrong' in the vehicles, it was more that drivers didn't understand how the shifter worked.
