JAC Motors has announced the delivery of an initial batch of 500 units of its third-generation pure electric vehicle to operators in Hefei and Anhui and the municipal government of Chengdu (which is taking 220 vehicles). The event was described as a milestone for JAC’s ‘new energy’ vehicle development, and the largest deployment to date of pure EVs in Chinese government fleets.
Including the delivered 500 units, this year is expected to see a total of 4,000 JAC ‘new energy’’sedans being supplied for demonstration fleets. JAC said it “will continue to respond positively to the development policies of the national new energy vehicles, and unswervingly focus on the technology route, and unswervingly adhere to industrialisation and the demonstration promotion, to ensure to form a production capacity of 100,000 pure electric cars in 2015, and strive to rank in the top three manufacture of the self-brand new energy vehicles.”
