According to a study by the Center for Automotive Management (CAM), Audi models have the lowest average CO2 emissions of 144.5g/km (232.55 g/mile) on the German market among the brand’s domestic premium competitors. The study was reported to media by Audi itself on 18 October.
According to the CAM study, the German premium OEMs collectively reduced the CO2 emissions of their new vehicles by an average of 10% between H1 2009 and H1 2012, whereas the volume brands in the German market registered an average reduction of 7% in the same period. The CAM study was based on data from the German Federal Motor Vehicle Agency (KBA) related to new car registrations.
The Audi brand’s average 144.5g/km was only marginally lower than BMW’s (including Mini) at 145.4g/km but more significantly lower than Mercedes-Benz’s (including smart), at 150g/km.
