Nissan has halted plans to open a battery plant in Cacia, Portugal. Reuters, citing company spokesman Antonio Pereira-Joaquim, reports that the OEM will explore an alternative use for the building, construction of which launched early this year.
The Portuguese plant was scheduled to start making electric vehicle batteries in December 2012
