General Motors has announced an US$8m investment in the Global Battery Systems Lab at the GM Technical Center campus in Warren, Michigan. The Global Battery Systems Lab began operations in January 2009, becoming fully operational in May 2009.
The project will double the size of the current facility by 30,000sq ft
