Yokohama Rubber has commenced construction of its US$165m car tyre plant in Lipetsk, Russia, which it expects to be in production by the end of 2011.
The 462,680sq-ft facility will be operated by Yokohama R.P.Z., an 80-20 tyre manufacturing and sales joint venture established by Yokohama and Japanese trading company Itochu
