The US Department of Transport’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have formalised new national greenhouse gas and fuel economy standards. The new regulations cover all cars and light trucks sold in the US for the 2012 through 2016 model years.
