Transport connectivity to cut casualties, providing there’s regulatory framework

Kapsch speaks to Megan Lampinen about the potential for and progress on cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS)

Connected roads mean safer roads, and the European Parliament is actively working to support the introduction of connectivity to reduce road casualties. In March this year it formulated its position on cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), highlighting the regulatory framework required and setting out an ambitious time-frame. With many OEMs preparing to equip their vehicles with V2X technology by next year, this area offers considerable potential for suppliers and service providers.
