Traditional parking process to be revolutionised by autonomous and smart parking

In the near future it will be possible for the parking task to be taken out of the drivers’ hands

In the future, consumers can expect time-consuming aspects of driving such as getting stuck in traffic and finding a parking space to be aided by increasingly sophisticated technology, and eventually, in a highly debated timeframe, the car will be able to drive itself. Until then, however, small steps are being taken to increase the autonomy of the car. Many OEMs today are revolutionising the traditional parking process. In the near future, therefore, it will be possible for the parking task to be taken out of the drivers’ hands. This self-parking functionality could save drivers time and fuel and improve local air quality.
