Tesla’s China plans may require compromise

Tesla's manufacturing ambitions for China may have hit a roadblock. The OEM wants to build locally but it doesn't want a JV partner, writes Megan Lampinen

Tesla's proposed plant in China promises a potential rewriting of investment rules, if approval comes through. Nothing is moving quickly, though, and recent reports from Bloomberg suggest that talks may have stalled.
