In July 2017, the London Taxi Company, maker of arguably the world’s most recognisable cab, changed its name to the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC). This, said owners Geely, represented the company’s commitment to becoming a leader in the development of new energy vehicles (NEV) for urban use.
LEVC’s fifth-generation vehicle, the TX, uses purpose-built eCity technology, capable of up to 70 miles (113km) of battery-powered, emission-free driving, and a gasoline-powered range
