‘Mix and match’ approach could be critical for EV charging infrastructure

Michael Nash talks to Brett Hauser of Greenlots about the on-going development of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure

Electrification is one of the hottest topics in the automotive industry at the moment. Numerous OEMs have promised to significantly expand the number of electrified vehicles they have in their portfolios over the next couple of years, and several have recently introduced new pure electric vehicles (EVs) to market.

The development of an adequate charging infrastructure will be essential to support the rollout of these vehicles. Some vehicle manufacturers have committed to building these stations themselves, with the latest announcement coming from a consortium made up of BMW, Daimler, Ford, Audi and Porsche to build 400 fast chargers across Europe.
