The use of stop/start technology to reduce fuel consumption is becoming increasingly common, and Navigant Research recently predicted that worldwide sales of vehicles with stop/start technology will grow from 8.8 million in 2013 to 55.4 million in 2022. Chevrolet recently announced that from 2015, stop/start technology will be standard on the Impala base 2.5-litre Ecotec engine.
