European truck market buoyant, but industry weary of regulations

With incoming regulations on the use of diesel in built-up urban areas, an increasingly positive business-case for platooning and Brexit on the horizon, European truck manufacturers will have their work cut out for them in 2018.

Anil Valsan, Global Automotive & Transportation Lead Analyst at EY, believes solid financials mean there is cause for optimism, but with the ongoing transformation of the market, featuring digitalisation and electrification, OEMs and fleet operators will need to work hard to stay on top of developments.
