From a consumer perspective, the purchase of new tyres is not usually a welcome one, and for the majority of people, the tyre that looks like it will do the job usually wins over the premium product. In 2012, the EU Energy label for tyres regulation came into force, rating tyres from A to G. Nick Molden, Founder and Chief Executive of Emissions Analytics, told Automotive World, “The tyre-labelling system was an attempt to communicate to the end audience which tyres were better on fuel economy, handling in the wet, and rolling resistance.”
