COMMENT: Improvements to aftermarket services vital for recall efficiency

Recent years have seen numerous product recalls across various sectors. This month, parts manufacturer Takata recalled over 34 million vehicles as a result of faulty airbags, affecting 11 OEMs and tens of millions of drivers. By increasing the visibility in the automotive supply chain, future recalls of this scale can be reduced. In order to tackle this recall in an efficient way, however, it is vital that manufacturers implement new aftermarket operations.
