We are by now becoming accustomed – and many would argue resigned – to the observation that Brexit is anything but simple. This is hardly surprising; it is hard to think of a parallel, in modern economic history, of another globally significant and fully developed economy choosing unilaterally to withdraw from its closest and largest trading partner.
